Dear ONE Member:


My name is Shayne Moore. I am a stay-at-home mom and a ONE member from Wheaton, Illinois, and I've been taking in all the sights and sounds of St. Petersburg, Russia at the G8 Summit.

On Saturday, I attended a press conference with President Bush and Russian President Putin. They discussed important global concerns, including questions on security, energy policy, and nuclear arms. Having never been in the same room with a U.S. President, I was quite taken with it all. But with so much talk of war and conflict, I keep having this nagging thought in the back of my head: Extreme poverty kills thousands of people every single day and will continue to take innocent lives... will the G8 leaders keep the promises made last year or will they break their word?

Last year, President Bush pledged on behalf of America that we assist the world's poorest nations. Congress must now honor our pledge by writing the check to fund life-saving programs.

Join me in urging Congress to keep America's promises to the world's poorest nations just one year ago.


I was lucky enough to attend the G8 Summit last year as a ONE delegate when G8 leaders promised $50 billion more in effective development assistance per year by 2010. This critical funding means real help for real people, to care for AIDS orphans, give basic education to all children by 2015, and much more. We've made some important progress on canceling debts for 19 countries, but there are many more on the list. In the last year, we accomplished a great deal, but we’ve only scratched the surface.

President Bush requested a $3 billion increase in effective international assistance so that America can keep our promises on track. Currently, Congress is going only about a third of the way to help Africa and the world's poorest nations. Both the House of Representatives and Senate cut around $2 billion from the President's request, putting America's G8 pledges in jeopardy.

I'm just one, ordinary person who in this moment is having an extraordinary experience. That is the power of ONE. As one person I'm just sitting in a room full of people with my own questions. Together, we're loud and those same questions become points on the agendas of world leaders.

Join me in urging Congress to keep America's promises to the world's poorest nations just one year ago.

last nite, we had dinner at Duck King - plangi ( again ... ) Me, Oliv, Dhedi, PK and Derreck. it was fun and so fun. after die harder work and we having nice "expensive" dinner .. and of course .. COMPANY PAY ! .. hehe .. man i love this job ..
we eat together, laughing, make a joke ... so fun .. everybody cheer up .. well it seems so fun .. but im not ... still lonely .. empty ..

i was think bout him .. i always dreaming .. if i get home i can see all my loving .. tiesto .. and my wife .. but it's only a dream ..



  

so last nite when i come home, i got 2 packages of roasted duck .. and i share it to my homeboys .. and then after that they comeback to me with a glass of "pletokan" and a maryjane .. damn man ... that the thing i never do since i was in high school ..

Ayah menyelinap masuk seorang diri kekamarmu. Baru beberapa menit yang lalu, ketika ayah sedang membaca koran di ruang perpustakaan,satu sapuan sesal yang amat dalam menerpa. Dengan perasaan bersalah Ayah datang masuk menghampiri pembaringanmu.


Ada hal-hal yang Ayah pikirkan,nak .......Ayah selama ini bersikap kasar kepadamu......Ayah membentakmu ketika kau sedang berpakaian hendak pergi ke sekolah ,karena kau cuma menyeka mukamu sekilas dengan handuk., Lalu ayah lihat kau tidak membersihkan sepatumu.Ayah berteriak marah tatkala kau melempar beberapa barangmu ke lantai.

Saat makan pagi Ayah juga menemukan kesalahan...Kau meludahkan makananmu. Kau menelan terburu-buru makananmu.Kau meletakkan sikumu di atas meja. Kau mengoleskan mentega terlalu tebal di rotimu. Dan begitu kau baru mulai bermain dan Ayah berangkat mengejar kereta api, kau berpaling dan melambaikan tangan sambil berseru,"selamat jalan Ayah!"
dan Ayah mengerutkan dahi,lalu menjawab,"Tegakkan bahumu!"

Kemudian semua itu berulang lagi pada sore hari...Begitu Ayah muncul dari jalan, Ayah segera mengamatimu dengan cermat,memandang hingga lutut, memandangmu yang sedang bermain kelereng.Ada lubang-lubang pada kaus kakimu.Ayah menghinamu di depan kawan-kawanmu, lalu menggiringmu untuk pulang kerumah. "Kaus kaki mahal - dan kalau kau yang harus membelinya, kau akan lebih berhati-hati! " Bayangkan itu,Nak, ....itu keluar dari pikiran seorang ayah!

Apakah kau ingat, nantinya, ketika ayah sedang membaca di ruang perpustakaan, bagaimana kau datang dengan perasaan takut,dengan rasa terluka dalam matamu? Ketika Ayah terus memandang koran, tidak sabar dengan gangguanmu, Kau jadi ragu-ragu di depan pintu."Kau mau apa?"

Kau tidak berkata sepatah pun, melainkan berlari melintas dan melompat ke arah Ayah, kau melemparkan tanganmu melingkari leher Ayah dan mencium Ayah, tangan-tanganmu yang kecil semakin erat memeluk dengan hangat, suatu kehangatan yang telah Tuhan tetapkan untuk mekar di hatimu dan yang bahkan pengabaian sekali pun tidak akan mampu melemahkannya. Dan kemudian kau pergi, bergegas menaiki tangga.

Nah, Nak, sesaat setelah itu koran jatuh dari tangan Ayah, dan satu rasa takut yang menyakitkan menerpa Ayah. Kebiasaan apa yang sudah Ayah lakukan? kebiasaan dalam menemukan kesalahan, dalam mencerca-? ini adalah hadiah Ayah untukmu sebagai seorang anak lelaki. Bukan berarti Ayah tidak mencintaimu; Ayah melakukan ini karena Ayah berharap terlalu banyak dari masa muda.Ayah ,Ayah sedang mengukurmu dengan kayu pengukur dari tahun-tahun Ayah sendiri.

Dan sebenarnya begitu banyak hal yang baik dan benar dalam sifatmu.Hati mungil milikmu sama besarnya dengan fajar yang memayungi bukit-bukit luas. Semua ini kau tunjukkan dengan sikap spontanmu saat kau menghambur masuk dan mencium Ayah sambil mengucapkan selamat tidur. dalam 2 hari di minggu ini gue pergi jalan sama anak kantor. awalnya cuma mau nonton bola doang dan emang ajakan mereka adalah nonton bola, but .. nonton bolanya itu in a club. dan gue sendiri sudah lama banget gak pernah ke club ato doing such thing
tapi satu yang pasti .. penuh, asap, alkohol dan wanita ..

so the story happen dalam 2 malam .

First Day - Club 36, Jayakarta Hotel

Karena ajakan si Jimmi, ( he is temen semeja gue ) yang ngajak ngajak gue untuk nonton bola, dengan segala promosinya .. ya dan gue juga gak ada kerjaan .. akhirnya ikut dia.

duh ternyata tempatnya pun bener bener club, rave music, yang "kota" banged. the girls .. ( damn .. all orientals ) dan ditambah lagi secara dia Host nya dia presenting 2 botles of Black Label. but ada satu yg minus .. kita gak beli rokok. -sighs- . i just sightseeing .. see all the pretty girls all around .. but as always gue tetap merasa sendiri di dalam sana. ntar dah brapa gelas alkohol dan berapa batang rokok gue abisin .. tetep aja pikiran gue gak disana. melayang ntah kmana ..
mencari dan terus mencari ...
and we going home at 5 AM.

Second Day - Score, Citos.

it is the part of the job, gue harus ikut entertain the custome, dan kantor memilih Score sbg tempatnya .. it is because gue juga gak ada kerjaan ya gue kesana .. another party, dinner , nonton bola dan another alcohol.

disana .. ya gua ama anak anak ber 20 .. nonton bola lagi .. sambil dinner dan of course 2 botol chivas sbagai penutup. walaupun client gue ada yg lucu, dan waitress disana ada yg lucu. dan juga ada satu cewe lucu .. tetep aja gue masih melayang ..

on that nite .. bunbun send blank sms, i tried to call back but she turned off her cellular .. lost hope ..

i dunno .. jika saja ada sesuatu yg bisa dilakukan untuk merubah ini semua ..

even di tengah keramaain pun gue masih kesepian ....
